Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign®

How does Invisalign® clear aligner therapy work?

The Invisalign® system works by using a custom-engineered series of clear, removable aligners that exert gentle, controlled force to gradually guide your teeth into their ideal positions. Dr. Drever captures a highly accurate 3D model of your bite using our advanced digital scanner—completely eliminating messy, uncomfortable physical impression molds. You will change out your aligners at home every one to two weeks, with each new set of trays bringing you one step closer to your beautifully straight smile.

How many hours a day do I need to wear my clear aligners?

To ensure your clear aligner treatment stays on track and achieves the most predictable results, you should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. Trays should only be removed when you are eating, drinking anything other than water, and performing your routine brushing and flossing. Consistency is the secret to a fast transformation; wearing them diligently throughout the day and while you sleep allows the targeted clinical forces to align your smile efficiently.

How long does the average clear aligner treatment take in Kelowna?

Every smile is completely unique, so your total treatment timeline depends entirely on the complexity of your alignment goals or bite correction. On average, most adult clear aligner treatments in Kelowna take between 12 to 18 months to complete. However, minor aesthetic adjustments can show incredible results in as little as 6 months. Dr. Drever will provide a precise, digitized timeline mapping out exactly how long your custom transformation will take.

Does insurance cover Invisalign® clear aligners in British Columbia?

Yes, many comprehensive dental insurance policies in BC cover clear aligner therapy under the exact same terms as traditional orthodontic care and metal braces. If your plan includes orthodontic coverage, it will typically pay for a specific percentage or fixed lifetime amount of your aligner treatment. Our experienced dental administration team in Kelowna will directly coordinate with your insurance provider, submitting a pre-determination to break down your exact coverage.

Do I need to live in Kelowna to use your dental clinic?

We often see patients from outside of Kelowna for Invisalign® clear aligners. We regularly see patients from West Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland, Summerland, Penticton. Armstrong, Vernon, Enderby, Grindrod and even as far as Alberta. We happily have video consultations with remote patients.
